What does a unit actually cost you, delivered?

Product cost is the part everyone knows. Freight, fuel, handling, duty and VAT are the part that decides whether the product works. Put your numbers in and see all of it, line by line.

Carton dimensions

Carton size per unit — optional, but a bulky product is priced on volume, not weight

Optional. Adds revenue and margin to the result.

Fill in the form and the breakdown appears here — every line we charge, not a single total.

Why this one is different

Three things most calculators leave out

Plenty of tools multiply a product cost by a shipping guess. The lines below are where a margin actually goes.

Volumetric weight, not just the scale

A light, bulky carton is charged on the space it occupies. Give us the carton size and the calculator prices whichever is higher — the same way the carrier does.

Duty and VAT as their own lines

Import charges are shown separately, on the basis they are actually assessed on, so you can see what is ours and what is the border’s.

Our rates, dated

The freight table and the exchange rate come from what we are quoting now, and the result says when they were last updated. An estimate with no date is a guess.

How the number is built

The order the costs are applied in

Two providers can quote the same shipment differently and both be right, because the order matters. This is ours, in full, so you can check it against a bill.

  • Chargeable weight first: the heavier of actual and volumetric weight, multiplied by your quantity.
  • Freight is the rate for that weight, on that route, at that service level.
  • Fuel surcharge applies to the freight only — never to the value of your goods.
  • Handling and packaging are added per order and per unit.
  • Duty is assessed on goods plus freight, then VAT on goods, freight and duty.
  • Insurance, where it applies, is a percentage of the goods value.
  • The whole thing is worked out in US dollars and converted once, at the rate shown with the result.

What this number is, and is not

Read these before you price a product off the result.

No — it is an estimate built from our current rates. Rates move, carriers reprice, and duty depends on how your specific product is classified. Send us the product and the destination and we will confirm in writing; that is the number you can hold us to.

Duty depends on the commodity code your product falls under and on the basis the destination assesses. The calculator applies a rate for the destination group, which is the right order of magnitude but not a classification. If duty is a material part of your margin, it is worth confirming the code before you scale.

Because carriers price in brackets rather than continuously, and so do we. A parcel just over a bracket boundary pays the next bracket — which is exactly why it is worth testing a slightly smaller carton or a different unit count here before you commit to packaging.

Anything specific to your product or your market: category testing and certification, branded packaging programmes, marketplace and payment fees, returns, and storage beyond what is normal for a moving product. Those are quoted against the actual work rather than guessed at here.

No. The calculation runs on the server and the result comes straight back to your browser. Nothing is saved, there is no email gate, and you do not need an account to use it.

If the margin works on paper, let us price it properly

Send the product and the destination. You get a confirmed cost, in writing, broken into the same lines you just saw.
